This statistics are insane! Steve hates for me to say “I’m taking the kids to the bookstore” because he knows that means we will spend more money than we would spend if we went to the mall for clothes. We have a “library” set up in our home and I cannot imagine a life without books everywhere! People are missing out on so much!
You are so right, Michelle. I cannot imagine never reading. It is so ingrained in our lives. We started a long time ago, encouraging our kids to read by offering them a reward for every book they finished and wrote a one page report. The catch was that we get to choose the book.
