Boy are we old!! The good ole ’70’s.
Before your time, Joel:
Quart cokes – in the glass bottle.
Penny candy that really was a penny! Smarties were the best deal because there were at least a dozen in the little roll.
Hitting the TV just right and really hard to get the static to go away!
3 Dog Night 🙂
The Monkees
Maxi dresses (the first time around)
Casey Kasem’s Top 40 on Sunday night after church. (hmm… without the parent’s knowledge, of course)
A lot of that, I remember, Terri. Although Three Dog Night and CCR were nothing I could tolerate. Besides my dad was a biker so it was all classic rock (only not classic then) and since we are Michiganders, it was mostly Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band.
What about Saturday afternoon wrestling (or wrastling) matches on TV, dime cokes, Tarzan in black and white, Lawrence Welk, The Wonderful World of Disney, Barnum & Bailey Animal Crackers in the box that resembled a car train for the circus, polyester suits with the shiney, big-collared shirts, Starskey and Hutch tennis shoes, the Carpenters…the list could go on and on.
Oh man, NG. I do remember about half that list, but the other half is before my time, lol. Thanks for reading, gramps. :-p
That’s Bro. Gramps to you “whippersnapper!”
