Absence makes the heart grow fonder

Winter is over as far as I’m concerned.

The cold temps of the past few months have given way to high forties to mid fifties. The daylight saving time adjustment keeps the sun around until 8:00 PM. It’s the type of thing that draws us out of our homes and back into the full swing of things. When you live in a cold climate, life doesn’t stop, but it does slow down somewhat.

I truly do believe that the winter helps me appreciate the spring, summer and fall that much more. In Michigan, we experience four full distinct seasons. Winter helps us appreciate the others so much better.

That’s what hard times do. They help us appreciate the good times that much more.
